I think that one of the most fun of all projects because it takes so much planning and research for each home is different, grass, soil, sunlight, grass type and what to use seed or sod. There are so many ways to approach doing the job so make certain you have done all your homework. Check soil by removing a 8X8 inch square and take on the look at the roots.
If there are little to no roots then that may be your problem. Grass needs to be able to establish at least a 2-3 inch root base and it should be uniform if not that may be the problem . I would like to share on type dormant seeding. Yes you can seed in the winter. The seed we are using is Scott Brand. Will discuss seed in this post soon.
It’s essential you do your research and ask the local farm store and call and visit the internet and see what see grows best in your region. Also what type of lawn seed you would like to have.
